Sigmund Freud devised a clinical dispositif in which a ritual of speaking and listening unfolded in what we understand now as a psychoanalytic mode of therapeutic care. The FREEPSY research collective has unearthed, unpacked, visited and witnessed various other ways of analytic encounters practiced historically and at our times in several different parts of the world.

These other clinical figurations include reimagining the setting and frame, and they also propose a political creativity in relation to what is listened to and how and what is done with it.  In this seminar/workshop we will look at examples of creative analytic practices and free associate, together, on modes of clinical listening for our times.  Each person will produce a pocket zine of ‘another way of listening’ that resonates with the urgencies of our times, guided by a wish to imagine clinics of future-possibles.
