Our Postdoctoral Researcher, Ana Minozzo, will be presenting some of her current FREEPSY research on the international colloquium ‘Plural Approaches to the ‘dividual’: Politics, Space, Bodies, Digital’ happening in Lyon, France on the 24th and 25th of October, 2023.
Ana will be presenting a paper on ‘Collectives, commons and mental health: Free Clinics as a machine to treat dividuality’. You can find the full abstract here. The event will bring together researchers from the fields of philosophy, the arts and communications and beyond, from various countries and of plural practices and will have keynotes by Michaela Ott, Jacopo Bodini, Mauro Carbone and Gerald Raunig.
The ‘dividual’ is a concept coined by the late French Philosopher Gilles Deleuze and convened in his impactful yet very brief essay ‘Postscript on the Societies of Control’ published in 1992 in the October journal. Since then, the notions of ‘molds’ and ‘modulations’ presented in this text and the kind of subjectivity they forge have been addressed by various scholars around the world and across disciplines of psychosocial thought. Ana’s own research has been very influenced by such Deleuzean conceptual tools when thinking about mental health and a grammar of suffering in and outside of the clinic over the past few years.
